The society depends upon several ways to raise funds for the day
to day running costs of the Heritage Centre and the maintenance
of the archives and artefacts. We rely initially on membership
fees, gifts and donations.
We also run a Heritage draw and have raffles at the various functions
we hold. Membership fees are seen as the foundation of our fundraising
and we are always encouraging more people to join the Society.
Being called a 'History' Society does
not mean you have to be above a certain age to join!
We need young people to take an interest in what is and will be
their heritage - as well as keeping the older members younger!
There is also our shop where various gifts,
mementos,
mugs and stationery such as Christmas cards and calendars are
available for sale.
The shop is now proving to be very popular and one of
the main fundraising projects. Or you can simply put any
of your unwanted hard-earned cash in our milk churn at the
Heritage Centre............please!
We are now promoting our online shopping facility and full information
can be found on the webshop
page.
