Whimple Heritage Centre
Fund Raising
The net annual running costs of the Heritage Centre are typically about £2000, once income from membership fees, donations and events has been deducted.
Some fundraising activities to supplement that income include:
-
The popular Wassailing celebration in January
-
Historical talks at the village Hall
-
Cream Tea afternoon in the summer
-
The Treasure Hunt during Village Week
-
The Christmas Lunch in December
-
Shop sales and shopping events
-
The Biennial Auction
-
Raffles at various events
If you would like to help with any of the above, we would be absolutely delighted to hear from you. Any raffle prizes to donate or suggestions of other fundraising activities can be passed on to us by notification through the website contact page.
In a year when we have a fund raising auction, we do get close to breaking even but even so donations are always welcome.

The Heritage Centre 100+ Lottery
The Society is a Registered Charity and runs a lottery registered by E. Devon Council. This is called the Heritage Centre 100 Club.
Subscriptions to the Club will be by payment of £5 per ticket to the Society Treasurer. Each ticket entitles the holder to be entered into a total of 4 draws each Year. Draws take place at society events and prize-winners are notified after each draw.
Currently each draw consists of 3 prizes totaling £70. Members of the Club will automatically be entered into every draw during the year once their payment has been received. The membership year begins on 1st April.
Membership is open to society members but we do encourage non-members within the village to take part. More than one subscription may be made by any individual.
